Costs for This Course

We'll keep costs as low as possible by using small resources and deleting them when we're done. Eligible AWS Free Tier credits can also cover costs, but this course is not guaranteed to be free or to stay under a fixed dollar amount. Your total expenditure will depend on your account's credits and allowances, the resources you create, and how long you leave them running.

If you complete this course within a couple weeks and follow the cleanup instructions, budget ~$5–10 before any AWS credits. Moving through the material quickly can bring the cost down to just a few dollars.

I'm going to be very clear about which resources cost money, and point out when it's safe to delete them to avoid further charges. If you're on a Paid plan, make sure to check your credit balance and charges in the Billing and Cost Management console as you go.

I recommend moving through this course relatively quickly. You'll see me mention at certain points things like:

If you're going to step away, go ahead and delete this resource, but you'll need to double back and recreate it when you resume.

For that reason, if you can get this course done over a few weeks, you won't have to worry about recreating resources, and you can delete each item when you're fully done with it. That's how I recommend approaching the course!
