Optional Cleanup

Delete/release all the resources we no longer need:

1. Terminate the EC2 instance
   1. Navigate to "EC2" → "Instances" in the AWS Console.
   2. Select the app server instance (patientping-web-v2).
   3. Click "Instance state" → "Terminate (delete) instance."
   4. Click "Terminate (delete)."
   5. Wait for deletion to complete (usually pretty quick for EC2 instances). You'll know it's done when the instance state shows as Terminated.
2. Release the Elastic IP address
   1. Navigate to "EC2" → "Elastic IPs" (under "Network & Security") in the AWS Console.
   2. Select the IP address that you allocated for the EC2 instance.
   3. Click "Actions" → "Release Elastic IP addresses," then click "Release."
   4. Verify that the IP was released; this should be instant.

      It's best to wait for the EC2 instance to be terminated, since that automatically disassociates the Elastic IP from it. Only then can you release the IP to avoid further charges.
