Compared to current agents, agents from six months ago are mouthbreathers. Until proven otherwise, we can expect that pace of change to continue.
This course contains the current best practices, but we can expect the SOTA to change. This course is updated constantly to stay evergreen, but realize you need to stay up to date, too.
Each new SOTA model release seemingly aims to correct the previous model's flaws based on users' feedback. It's not that they are necessarily smarter, they are just trained on more relevant data and tasks. What that means for you is your AGENTS.md, skills, and tools might already be obsolete.
The newest models:
Review your setup for each new model to see what you simply don't need anymore. Over time, you should remove more prompting than you add.
OpenCode and (most) other coding agents are constantly updated to adapt to the latest models and use cases. What you use a plugin or tool for now could become a feature later. A feature you rely on currently might be eliminated down the road.
Embrace the change to your workflow. You should customize your preferred coding agent as little as possible for best results.
