Managing Relationships

Relationships connect your tables so that filters flow through your model correctly. In a star schema, each dimension connects to the fact using a one-to-many relationship.

As you know, when we imported our CSV files, Power BI automatically found and made relationships where it thought they should be. These aren't always perfect, and you may need to make your own connections.

Assignment

In Model View, right click on the line representing the relationship between sales and products, then delete it.
Head back to the Report view, and notice that by removing that relationship, we broke our total revenue card! It can't get the price data from the products table if it isn't aware of the relationship.
Back in the Model view, drag the product_id from sales onto the product_id in products.
Ensure that the cardinality is many-to-one from sales to products (one product can be sold many times).
Go back to the Report view and ensure that the "total revenue" card is working again.

Save the project and, from the course directory, submit the CLI tests.
